Jivamukti
Jivamukti is a physical, ethical, and spiritual practice, combining a vigorous hatha yoga, ashtanga vinyasa-based physical style with adherence to five central tenets: shastra (scripture), bhakti (devotion), ahimsā (nonviolence, non-harming), nāda ( music), and dhyana (meditation). Animal rights, veganism, environmentalism, [2] and social activism are also emphasized. [3] Jivamukti Yoga has developed a reputation as the chosen yoga style of many celebrities. [4] The Jivamukti Yoga method is a proprietary style or yoga created by David Life and Sharon Gannon in 1984.

Jivamukti is the favorite yoga movement of many famous Americans and was founded in 1984 in New York by Sharon Gannon and David Life. Together they have played an important role in bringing Yoga to the attention and making it accessible to a wider audience. The lessons are physically demanding and have many (deeper) layers because in each lesson the five Jivamukti Yoga pillars are discussed. In addition to the practice of yoga postures in dynamic flow, there is always attention during a Jivamukti class for these five central principles: Shastra (the ancient scriptures), bhakti (devotion / devotion), ahimsa (nonviolence, non-injury), NADA ( music) and Dhyana (meditation).

Class is taught in English.

Jivamukti
